The Philippines is an island country located in the western Pacific Ocean. A Southeast Asian country is notable for beach holidays with stunning beaches. The archipelago consists of around 7,107 islands, and over 2,000 of these are inhabited. Known as the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the Philippines is made of beautiful beaches and mountainous landscapes.

Bohol is one of the Philippines’ most popular destinations, and it is not difficult to see why. The island has everything a tourist expects in terms of beaches, churches, and museums dating back to before the Spanish colonized it. For adrenaline junkies, there are extreme sports.

But have you tried visiting some places for food and fun? Not yet? Then, try visiting Fortridge Food Park when visiting Bohol, Philippines.

Fortridge Food Park is an alfresco dining experience with no less than 21 food stalls serving a variety of cuisines.

The owner Engr. Fortunato “Forting” Lim, was inspired by a Japanese restaurant he visited while in Japan. It was a place with a lot of good food and entertainment, but the most intriguing aspect was the “catch and cook” activity inside. He brought that concept to Bohol, Philippines, and established the now-famous Fortridge Food Park.

How to get there?

The gorgeous Koinonia Hill in barangay Songculan Dauis is home to Fortridge Food Park, which has ample parking for diners. Fortridge, Bohol’s largest food park, is a two-hectare complex. Apart from the places in front of the numerous food vendors, the man-made lagoon is beautifully positioned in the middle of the Food Park with planted dining areas, making it even more scenic.

To go there, you can ride a tricycle, your car, bike, or vehicle. The road is wide and easy to access, giving you a comfortable trip. You can use Waze or Google Maps for more accurate driving directions.

Things to do in Fortridge Food Park

Watch Live Bands and Join Events

Cebu might have the best singing voices and well-known bands, but so does Bohol.

Every night local bands come together to play their music in the food park. Bohol is well known for its Reggae bands like Brownbuds. You can listen to them sing and perform in your seats while enjoying good food. Send a song request for them to play!

If you have talent yourself, just come up on stage and jam with the band!

They also do events for every occasion like Easter, OctoberFest, and the most recent Mothers’ Day! In celebration of these things, they make a full-blown program with special guests/bands for the adults and magic shows for the kids to enjoy!

Enjoy Varied and Affordable Food Menu

Fortridge offers a unique dining experience savoring your favorite dishes on top of a hill with an overlooking backdrop of the Maribojoc Bay, a place known for its ecotour.

It has stalls, kiosks, and restaurants that offer varied snacks, beverages, and cuisines. Want to stop by for a quick snack? Musashi Takoyaki, Potato Corner, Thirsty, Aiztea Tea Shop, Popcorn Bar, Biyans Cakes, and Pastries can cater to you.

Go Boating, Catch and Cook your Food

Fortridge offers a one-of-a-kind experience. You can take a boat ride around the lagoon and catch and cook your fish.

You read that correctly: Catch and Cook. It is a popular activity at Japanese restaurants, and it is now available in the Philippines. Iska of Kusina Genaro promotes the food kiosks, which offer guests the opportunity to catch and prepare fresh tilapia at the pond.
